10-Day Rwenzori Mount Stanley And Baker Hike via Kilembe

A 10-Day Rwenzori Mount Stanley And Baker Hike via Kilembe Trail. Mount Stanley (5,109m) and Mount Baker (4,844m) are iconic peaks in Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains, often climbed together on 8–10 day treks to experience glaciers near the Equator. Mount Stanley’s Margherita Peak is Uganda’s highest point, offering technical, high-altitude climbing, while Baker offers dramatic, steep terrain, both featuring incredible scenery.

The Rwenzori Peaks Trek, which includes the summits of Mount Stanley (5,109 m) and Mount Baker (4,842 m), can be completed in 10 days by the most daring mountaineers. Glacial splendour, verdant greenery, and breathtaking panoramas are what the “Mountains of the Moon” have to offer. There will be plenty of time for adjustment because this trip is slow.

A strange alpine landscape of lofty lobelias, valleys covered in moss, and clean mountain lakes awaits you after a slow ascent from Kasese via the Kilembe Trail, which winds its way through lush Afro-montane forests and bamboo zones. Two of Rwenzori’s loftiest summits can be reached using this method. While staying in strategically placed camps, you will have the opportunity to go on acclimatisation excursions.
